FIT is excited to announce their next exhibition “Art X Fashion"
A comprehensive exploration of the symbiotic relationship between the world of fashion and fine art. Featuring more than 140 objects, including garments, accessories, textiles, photographs, and original artworks drawn from MFIT's permanent collection, “Art X Fashion” challenges the traditional hierarchies of visual culture, presenting fashion and art each as parallel, potent expressions of social, intellectual, and creative forces. Curated by Dr. Elizabeth Way, curator of costume and accessories at MFIT, the exhibition reflects MFIT's mission to advance the understanding and appreciation of fashion's critical role in culture.
“Art X Fashion," will be on view February 18th through April 19th, 2026.
Every Women Biennial 2026
The Every Women Biennial is the world’s largest female and non-binary art biennial.
The Biennial engages artists, through a democratic open call, to cross-pollinate with each other from a variety of mediums, generations, and racial and ethnic backgrounds.
The salon-style exhibition features painting, photography, installation, sculpture, video art, textile, and multimedia works, activated by performance, dance, music, poetry readings, theater, and film.
PUNK-ROCK REVIVAL OF THE CARNIVALESQUE: A century ago, movements like Cabaret, Dada, and Surrealism were artists’ responses to social and political unrest. One hundred years later, we ask: What are we building in a troubled world that’s moving faster than we can grasp?
Our answer? SPECTALiA. In an age of distracting algorithms and spectacular seduction, we’re blurring binaries—of gender, canvas and screen, sense and nonsense.
Here, joy becomes our most subversive act. This isn’t just a show…it’s a world-building spell. Join us.
MARCH 8TH—APRIL 11TH, 2026
Tuesday—Saturday 11AM—6PM
with special hours for performance during the Biennial run.

You are welcome to attend the Every Woman Biennial Kickoff Flashmob and Performance at 1PM! This event will be 20-30 minutes and slightly different than a normal 5 minute flashmob. There will be a performance by Kinesis Project dance theatre, then we will begin adding in mobbers walking, freestyling and framing the action as we build toward a proper flashmob to Lady Gaga's Edge of Glory, ending with more freestyling and fun.

David N. Dinkins Municipal Building Public Tours
The tallest tower of the David N. Dinkins Municipal Building will be opened for entirely free public tours for the first time this summer. Beginning in June, the public will be able to book tours led by DCAS staff through an online portal, with groups of six people departing from the NYC CityStore in the base of the building.
This access is enabled by a $6 million improvement project on the building, including repairing the building’s historic cupola, installing glass barriers to ensure visitors can safely enjoy the panoramic views of the city, and renovating the rotunda landing to make it safe and inviting to the public.
Mayor Mamdani made the announcement on the second day of Black History Month, in honor of the city’s first Black mayor. The David N. Dinkins Municipal Building is one of the largest government office buildings in the world.
“For the first time ever, New Yorkers and visitors alike will experience the sweeping views of the city’s skyline perched atop the pinnacle of our city’s government operations, 1 Centre Street," said DCAS Commissioner Yume Kitasei. “Upon its completion, this project will increase public access to an iconic landmark and create new ways to experience New York City and preserve our historical building's infrastructure for future generations.”
The David N. Dinkins Municipal Building is home to over 2,000 employees. The building was made a New York City landmark in 1966, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and renamed after Mayor David N. Dinkins in 2015.

Villa Albertine Night of Ideas
Marking the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, this year’s Night of Ideas explores the roots of our modern democracies, asking what remains of Enlightenment ideals—and what might come next.
Bringing together artists, writers, performers, philosophers, and community advocates from both sides of the Atlantic, the event will examine reason and the rule of law, freedom of expression, scientific inquiry, and equal access to education and culture, while confronting the pressures these democratic ideals face today.
The evening’s keynote conversation on the future of equality and democracy will convene Nobel Prize–winning economist Joseph Stiglitz, philosopher Juliana Bidadanure, and journalist Alissa Quart, executive director of the Economic Hardship Reporting Project. The main stage will feature a series of conversation-starting flash talks by leading thinkers and activists across generations.
A series of intimate salons will animate the night. In the Enlightenment era, salons served as vital social infrastructure—spaces where ideas were tested in real time against other minds. Night of Ideas revives this tradition by hosting participatory conversations focused on the future of equality in partnership with Interintellect. Participants can also register for writing workshops led by members of Oulipo, the literary collective whose ranks have included Georges Perec and Italo Calvino.
The program will include live music and culminate in a festive closing session. It will take place at Villa Albertine’s headquarters in the Payne Whitney Mansion (972 Fifth Avenue), just across the street from the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The event is free and open to the public.
