Calling all Dorothys! On August 22, The Algonquin Hotel will be celebrating the birthday of the iconic writer and wit, Dorothy Parker by offering one complimentary cocktail that day to all patrons named Dorothy (with proof of identification)* at their Blue Bar Restaurant & Lounge.

Known for her sharp tongue and incisive insight, the Algonquin will be commemorating the famous Round Table regular where she was often found exchanging wits with her cohorts.  

Travelers and New Yorkers alike are encouraged to toast to the literary icon at the hotel’s legendary lobby bar and indulge in delicious literary-themed cocktails, inventive plates and live music from renowned performer KT Sullivan. Patrons named Dorothy will be served the hotel’s signature Dorothy Parker cocktail made with a blend of Dorothy Parker Gin, apricot and orange bitters.
