The Alzheimer’s Association invites you to join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Naumburg Bandshell in Central Park. The Walk is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research.
On Walk day, participants honor those affected by carrying flowers of various colors, each color representing their personal connection to the disease. The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a day for everyone impacted by the disease to come together with their friends, loved ones, and community and feel supported. New York has the second highest rate of Alzheimer’s of any state in the U.S. More than 426,000 New Yorkers are living with Alzheimer’s. Though it remains a fatal disease, there are now two FDA-approved treatments to slow Alzheimer’s, with more in development.
