Join us to welcome Lunar New Year 2025 at the Queens Museum as the New York Chinese Cultural Center (NYCCC) brings its renowned program back to celebrate the Year of the Snake. Experience the magic of traditional folk dances, vibrant cultural performances, and hands-on artistic activities.

Enjoy a captivating hour-long showcase featuring professional artists and talented students from NYCCC's School of the Arts. Explore your creativity with workshops in Chinese calligraphy, ink brush painting, and crafts for all ages, led by the Queens Museum education team. Don't miss this joyous celebration of heritage and art!

Schedule

  • 1:00pm to 2:00pm: Performance Program by New York Chinese Cultural Center by artists and students from NYCCC.

  • 2:00pm to 2:45pm: Chinese Calligraphy Workshop by New York Chinese Cultural Center.

  • 3:00pm to 3:45pm: Ink Brush Painting Workshop by New York Chinese Cultural Center.

  • 2:00pm to 4:00pm: Snake Celebrations: An Intergenerational Lunar New Year Workshop” Join us for a fun and engaging workshop celebrating the Year of the Snake! Designed for participants of all ages, this hands-on activity invites families to come together and explore the cultural significance of the Chinese Lunar New Year. Guided by skilled Teaching Assistants from Queens Museum, attendees will create vibrant snake-themed crafts symbolizing prosperity and transformation.
