Shakespeare in the Park

The 61st Free Shakespeare in the Park season will feature Hamlet and will run for nine weeks at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park starting on Thursday, June 8 through Sunday, August 6.

There are five ways to get a free ticket for Shakespeare in the Park.

  • In-person lottery at The Public Theater A limited number of tickets for each public performance are distributed via an in-person lottery at The Public Theater (425 Lafayette Place). Lottery entries will be taken in the lobby and will be drawn at 12PM.

  • In-person distribution in the boroughs A limited number of tickets for each public performance are distributed at locations in every borough. Locations change each week, use link for the specific schedule.

  • Digital lottery with TodayTix A limited number of free tickets are distributed via digital lottery on the TodayTix app on most public performance dates

  • In-person standby line in Central Park There will be a standby line at The Delacorte Theater in Central Park after the final ticket is distributed by the other methods. Tickets will start to be distributed after 6PM.

Note: A Public Theater Patron ID is required to receive a free ticket. You can create an ID at publictheater.org/register.
