PARTNERS & ACTIVITIES
KITE-FLYING: Watch your kite soar above the Manhattan skyline the one day of the year kite-flying is open to the public at Brooklyn Bridge Park at Pier 5. Join for kite-making workshops and be awed at the talent of expert flying instructors – and learn some tips! This family-friendly festival unites S.T.E.A.M concepts, the Caribbean’s rich history of kite-flying, and outdoor adventures. Launch your kites, enjoy live entertainment, and learn all about the science of flight through kite-flying activities and experiments.
Private Picassos: provide a Kite Decorating Pavilion! Drop in, assemble and decorate your kite!
Nory STEM: Enjoy NORY STEM’s hands-on projects: young inventors will be thrilled as they build a motorized propeller project, learning about circuits and components, while older creators transform everyday objects into interactive computer controllers with our captivating robotics activities!

Our activities and games will test your knowledge of our Park’s local bird species. Measure your wingspan, feel and examine real feathers, and identify bird songs! Waddle over because we’ll have some egg-cellent interactive visuals to discover and free field guides to take home.
Trail Blazers: The Trail Blazers team join with a craft – kites may seem like toys but they have taught us a lot about flight! Over time, kites have been replaced by airplanes and they’ll be teaching how to make and fly your own paper planes.
