Forget Valentine’s Day! Join Renowned Artist Ace Lehner for A Queer Anti-Valentine’s Day Healing, at Ryan Van Der Hout’s Public Art Installation To Reflect Everything in Washington Square Park!

We're thrilled to announce the second activation of To Reflect Everything, a captivating 7-foot-tall mirrored sculpture by Ryan Van Der Hout that has mesmerized visitors since its unveiling in Washington Square Park on January 9.

The installation combines a disco ball's dazzling facets with a satellite's sleek form, inviting audiences to explore themes of reflection, connection, and transformation. On view until March 30, 2025, it joins the legacy of iconic works exhibited in Washington Square Park.

You’re invited to join for the next transformative event: A Queer Anti-Valentine's Day Healing on February 14th at 2:00 pm, led by renowned artist and scholar Ace Lehner. This site-specific performance creates a radical space for queer healing and communal care. Amid growing attacks on LGBTQIA+ rights, Lehner invites participants to engage in a powerful exploration of queerness, creativity, and connection as acts of resistance and joy.

About the Performance:

"The longer I live, the more deeply I learn that love — whether we call it friendship or family or romance — is the work of mirroring and magnifying each other's light."

― James Baldwin, Nothing Personal

Taking Baldwin as a starting place, Lehner's performance invites participants to seek a space of queer/trans communion, love, and reflection in the face of a world that has for centuries both celebrated and reviled us. Inspired by decades of queer activist organizing centered on Washington Square Park, Lehner embraces the wisdom of disco, dancing with queer ancestors, and imagining queer/trans futures, the performance guides the audience through practices of queer and trans love, joy, and self-evolution, transforming collective engagement into a porous space for radical disruption and resistance.
